About the role

You'll report to the VP of Operations and partner closely with Sales, RevOps, Finance, HR, and leadership.
We're hiring PointFive's first in-house Director of Legal to build the legal function from the ground up - covering commercial contracts and deal support, corporate housekeeping, compliance, and everything in between, while putting in place the infrastructure that makes the business faster as it grows.

Drive commercial contracting end-to-end, guiding GTM teams through negotiations and building their judgment on tradeoffs and risk over time.
Own the legal side of contract lifecycle management - intake, routing, templates, repository, and reporting - with RevOps and Sales Ops.
Support partnership agreements with cloud providers, channel partners, and technology alliances, including cloud marketplace contracting (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Own the company's corporate legal foundation - entity maintenance, governance coordination, IP ownership, trademarks, and licensing.
Build a consistent framework for evaluating and communicating legal and business risk to leadership, deploying outside counsel efficiently.
Partner with Security and Engineering on data privacy, SOC 2 / ISO 27001 / GDPR compliance, and RFP / security-questionnaire response.

5-7 years of legal experience in a hi-tech company or hi-tech-sector law firm.
Proven ability to work autonomously - you've owned a function, not just supported one.
Track record partnering closely with Sales and RevOps, understanding the commercial process, not just the contracts.
Experience managing outside counsel - knowing when to deploy them and how to extract value efficiently.
Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) and the operational work that keeps them current.

Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, data security, or FinOps industry context.
Founders with a track record - Built and sold IntSights to Rapid7.

JD from an accredited law school and bar admission (New York preferred).
