About the role
- This position works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Registered Nurses and the under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse.
- This position is responsible for customer service, chart management, retrieval of reports, and patient care duties.
- The position is also responsible for performing duties such as ordering supplies, order entry, filing of patient information and follow up to patients and physician offices, and other secretarial/clerical duties as directed.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes. Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment
- Answers phone in a timely manner using appropriate phone etiquette skills and screens calls appropriately to support a positive service experience. Functions as an advocate for positive customer service as the greeter of the unit.

Requirements
- Secretarial (Required)
- In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit.
- The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure.

- Experience
- Healthcare computer based systems (Preferred)
- Healthcare experience (Preferred)
- Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
