Responsibilities

  • Initiate and develop individualized physical therapy programs for patients while also instructing other personnel and/or family/caregiver members involved in the patient's care.

Requirements

  • Position Details: Main Office location: Springfield, VA Service Area: Alexandria and Surrounding Areas Job Type: Per Diem Schedule: Flexible Per Visit Rates Apply Responsibilitie s: Provide physical therapy services to patients in accordance with a written physician's plan of care and the state Physical Therapy Practice Act.
  • This includes assessing and evaluating therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status, evaluating the home environment, and determining the potential for rehabilitation, including muscle strength, mobility, gait, and range of motion.
  • Actively participate in case conferences to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated treatment approach.
  • Instruct patients and their families/caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic appliances and, when necessary, train patients in the use of prosthetic devices.
  • Prepare and submit clinical progress summaries based on the achievement of goals, following the guidelines set forth by the Organization policy.
  • Offer physical therapy assistant consultation to home families/caregivers when indicated, and actively engage in the peer consultation process to enhance the overall quality of care.
