About the role
- Aviva Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity in our Small Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit.
- Our Calgary branch is seeking a Commercial Lines P&C Underwriter in an Intermediate level.
- This role is accountable for driving profitable growth through high-quality underwriting, with a focus on middle market and large commercial accounts across select industry segments.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain broker relationships
- participate in broker/insured meetings to support new business and renewals.
- Maintain accurate documentation, portfolio quality, and compliance.
- Support junior staff through basic coaching when needed.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of underwriting fundamentals, pricing, and policy wording.
- Proficiency with underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office.
Nice to have
- CIP preferred or in progress.
Compensation
- These accounts typically fall within the annual premium range of $25K to $250K.
