About the role

The incumbent will spend large portions of the work shift on various job sites in all weather conditions.
The current vacancy exists in the Public Works Department.

Senior Engineering Technicians perform complex and highly technical engineering work and provide lead direction to support level personnel.
Possession of a valid Driver's License at time of appointment and maintain a valid Driver's License the entire time they are in the job class.

The desired candidate will have exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office products and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for the examination and does not assure a place on the eligibility list.
For experience to be deemed equivalent to that gained as an Engineering Technician II, three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction or technical engineering work is required.
If qualifying with experience only, four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction or technical engineering work is required.
If qualifying with a degree or accredited college or university credits, please attach a copy of the degree or transcripts.
Eligibles certified for consideration for this position will be required to successfully pass a Department interview and a Department of Justice fingerprint process prior to employment with the City of Fresno.

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
