About the role

  • The incumbent will spend large portions of the work shift on various job sites in all weather conditions.
  • The current vacancy exists in the Public Works Department.

Responsibilities

  • Senior Engineering Technicians perform complex and highly technical engineering work and provide lead direction to support level personnel.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License at time of appointment and maintain a valid Driver's License the entire time they are in the job class.

Requirements

  • The desired candidate will have exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office products and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum Qualifications/Requirements Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for the examination and does not assure a place on the eligibility list.
  • For experience to be deemed equivalent to that gained as an Engineering Technician II, three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction or technical engineering work is required.
  • If qualifying with experience only, four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction or technical engineering work is required.
  • If qualifying with a degree or accredited college or university credits, please attach a copy of the degree or transcripts.
  • Eligibles certified for consideration for this position will be required to successfully pass a Department interview and a Department of Justice fingerprint process prior to employment with the City of Fresno.
