About the role

  • The Security Technician 1 at Pref-Tech will be responsible for assisting in installing access control, IP-based and analog video management systems, intrusion systems, and auto-gate equipment.
  • Scope of duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the installation of electrified locks, card readers, ancillary access-controlled door devices, IP and analog cameras, intrusion, and intercom systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid TX Driver's License.
  • 0-2 year's experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Currently licensed or must have the ability to obtain TXDPS Security License.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Willingness to work from a bucket truck as required for installations and maintenance.
  • Must be willing to work days and nights.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in using hand tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling systems
  • Experience working with network, security, or electrical cabling
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Basic knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and principles.
