About the role
- You will split your time between technical contribution (architecture, code review, key feature development) and people leadership (mentoring, career development, and process improvement).
- This is a remote position based in Canada.
- Our preference is for candidates located in Eastern or Atlantic time zones as there is a lot of crossover and interaction with teams located throughout Europe.
Responsibilities
- Act as a hands-on technical lead for the squad, contributing to code (Kotlin/Spring Boot/React), reviewing PRs, and driving architectural decisions.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident response for the team's services, ensuring high availability for our clients.
- Champion and drive engineering best practices.
- Manage a small team of engineers
- Foster a strong culture of ownership where engineers feel empowered to deliver high-quality work.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align individual goals with company objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Management to estimate complex integration projects and establish realistic delivery timelines.
- Own the delivery process for the team, ensuring smooth sprints and predictable release cycles and on-time delivery of initiatives.
Requirements
- Familiarity with AI-assisted/agentic coding workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
- Serve as a technical voice in conversations with enterprise clients when deep technical expertise is required (e.g. integration scoping).

- We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a small cross-functional engineering team focused on evolving, onboarding and integrating Ada's solutions into customers' systems (Health Systems and Life Sciences).
