About the role
- Reports To: Wildfire Fighter Crew Leader
Responsibilities
- Maintain situational awareness.
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright and Wright Canada Holdings culture of safety and employee ownership.
- maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and work, including exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow.
- Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
- Organization of equipment before, during and after shifts will be required.

Nice to have
- Five (5) certifiable days (12 hours per day) actively involved in firefighting would be preferred.
- OFA Level 1, Chainsaw Operator and DTA Fire Module would be preferred.
Compensation
- Able to complete the Annual Physical Fitness Test—Moderate Standard.
Benefits
- Pay rate of $ 21.40 to $ 24.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications, in addition to an attendance bonus paid out at season's end.
