About the role
- WSC is a premier engineering, hydrogeology, construction management, and communications consulting firm that focuses exclusively on water.
- WSC is a next generation consulting leader that meets our clients where they are, providing insight, and redefining the possibilities through a high standard for hands-on service, innovation, quality, and visionary leadership.
- The candidate may reside in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura but will primarily work at our Montecito job site, requiring daily travel.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that construction activities align with project plans, specifications, and design intent.
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality assurance measures to enforce specification requirements for workmanship and materials.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any deviations from contract documents.
- Engage with specialty subconsultants to perform special and material inspections.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their goals, expectations, and feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks and challenges during the construction process and develop proactive strategies for mitigation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
- Manage the flow of information between the construction contractor and the engineer to assure timely responses to submittals and requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in engineering and/or construction management, with a focus on water, wastewater, and/or recycled water facilities.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure design, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to meet company and insurance provider requirements for driving eligibility.
- A passion for water, with an emphasis on creating multi-benefit solutions for communities and the environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS Office, Primavera P6, and other project management software and tools.
Compensation
- This is a full-time exempt position. The pay range is $98,000 - $150,000 per year and may be more or less depending on experience
