About the role

They are accountable for the implementation of the strategy, value generation from cost savings initiatives, and continuity of supply.
The Manager will be the direct interface to the supply base and be responsible for supplier management for all strategic and tactical issues.
Continuity of Supply, Cost Management / Savings, KPIs, Category Risk Mitigation, Forecasting, Quality Improvements and New Product Launch models (80%):

This position will report to the Director of Global Sourcing - NA Raw Materials and will support the Global Category Leader.
Manage a team of sourcing professionals. Allocate work according to project prioritization and team member bandwidth to maximize results.
Own the supplier relationship with major suppliers on assigned categories.
Implement, administer, and report the results of supplier initiatives covering assigned categories.
Manage assigned category specifications by structure, raw materials, and finishing applications.
Responsible to manage a broad range of materials and components as assigned by the Director of Strategic Sourcing.
Manage and lead the NA chemicals team consisting of a category specialist and a program manager
Develop total cost models and associated charts to analyze and understand base raw materials that comprise targeted components and raw materials within the spend assigned.
Interact with Product Development, Marketing and Operations Management to develop and apply new materials and product improvements.
Solicit and implement thoughts and ideas provided by plant sourcing, operations and manufacturing to better manage and optimize supply chain efficiencies.

Ideal Candidate Possesses These Attributes:
Working knowledge of the polyurethanes and / or petrochemicals NA market
Global travel may be required due to nature of supply base for assigned Categories.
To perform this job successfully, the employee must be capable of performing each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
The requirements herein are the minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Knowledge of polyurethane foam processing and associated input material supply chains for Isocyanates and Polyols, and suppliers of these materials
Proven ability to work with regional and global suppliers in a Sourcing, Procurement, or related supply chain role
Flexibility to seek & incorporate input from others
Advanced negotiation skills
Self-starter with experience in planning, assessing, and implementing change
Solid interpersonal and collaboration skills
Highly effective communication, presentation, and analytical skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Software Programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.…)
