About the role
- The Caregiver is responsible for supporting residents with personal care, daily routines, mobility, dining assistance, observation, and overall comfort.
Responsibilities
- This role also helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment, communicates changes in resident condition, and works closely with the nursing and leadership team to ensure quality care.
- Support residents during meals, including set-up, encouragement, and after-meal assistance
- Maintain accurate documentation, flow sheets, and care-related records as assigned
- Support a clean, calm, respectful, and positive living environment for residents
Requirements
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction and community procedures
Nice to have
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, and hygiene
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and transportation throughout the community
- Observe residents closely and promptly report changes in condition, incidents, injuries, or concerns to the nurse or supervisor
- Answer call lights and check on residents regularly to ensure needs are being met
- Help prepare rooms for new residents and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Follow community policies related to infection control, safety, confidentiality, resident rights, and abuse reporting
- Work collaboratively with coworkers and other departments to provide excellent resident care and service
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
