About the role

The business unit has approximately 4,500 employees with 27 manufacturing plants and 46 Distribution Branches in Europe, The Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Latin America, and the US.

Directs, trains, coaches, assists employees in performing job tasks. Communicates, supports, and enforces company policies. Interviews employees, appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Leads the safety effort within the department.
Participates in safety activities such as support for Suggestion Boards, Grass Root team projects, 5S projects, department ergonomic improvements, safety on-boarding and daily safety talks with direct reports; near miss and incident reporting; and safety walks.
Maintains time and production records. Reviews Kronos punches daily, makes changes, corrections, comments, documents errors.
Requests estimates, submits requisitions, and inspects materials. Consults with support services (quality/pattern shop) to ensure the production of quality castings and to determine cause of casting defects and implement solutions.

Ensures that employees receive all required training and are competent to perform job duties.
Must be able to address and correct quality deficiencies in a timely manner and complete/turn-in all reporting forms as directed.

related college degree/coursework strongly preferred.
Molten metal experience required for Melt/Mold departmen t.
Some lead/supervisory experience and/or training required.
Process/technical knowledge in hiring department required.
Excellent interpersonal skills essential
ability to successfully deal with change, learn new skills, techniques and processes, and a positive attitude required.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; related college degree/coursework strongly preferred.
Willingness to pursue formal education required.
