About the role
- The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
- The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
- The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all lifting operations on site.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a consistently high standard of safety across all lifting activities.
- Establish and implement clear procedures to ensure full understanding of lifting operations among lifting and logistics teams.
- Develop and enforce pre-start briefings and equipment-specific checklists for each type of machinery.
- Support equipment tracking and documentation of all Ontario Transit Group lifting devices.
- Collaborate closely with site engineers to ensure alignment of lifting activities with overall project goals.
- Valid Appointed Person Certification, confirming the ability to plan, supervise, and manage lifting operations while ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and legislative requirements.
Requirements
- Verify that all required permits, documentation, and approvals are in place before lifting operations begin.
- Confirm that all operators and drivers complete required pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Adapt tasks and responsibilities as required throughout the duration of the project.
- Proficiency in plant and logistics operations, including coordinating equipment movement, supporting site logistics planning, and ensuring efficient use of lifting assets across multiple work fronts.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience within a construction-based Lifting Department, demonstrating a foundational understanding of lifting operations, site procedures, and safe equipment handling.
