About the role
- The Mechanical Engineering team at Form is focused on designing the battery cell, module, and full pack system that forms the foundation of our innovative utility-scale multi-day energy storage system.
- This is a critical team for Form's iron-air battery technology and it is central to the system's successful implementation.

Responsibilities
- Architect, design, prototype, and oversee various systems to meet critical performance requirements
- Build and maintain thermal system analytical models that inform design architecture decisions
- Fabricate and test first-of-a-kind prototypes to validate system design choices
- Consider ways to design the product for high-volume manufacturing and reduce product cost
- Lead critical vendor engagements and collaborate with manufacturing engineers to transition system designs from prototype to high-volume production
- Collaborate with the Electrical and Controls teams to optimize actuator and sensor integration
- Understanding of first-principles and experience optimizing designs for manufacturing and cost-down
- Demonstrated experience optimizing design, thermal, electrical, and mechanical systems, and interdisciplinary interfaces of systems
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Bachelor's with 8+ years of industry experience in mechanical design of equipment
