About the role
- DEPT® is seeking a highly analytical and technical Architect Software Engineer (Adobe - AJO, AEP, RTCDP) to join our forward-deployed architecture squad in North America.
- Mapped back to our platform-agnostic Data and Martech Crafts, this role is a hands-on architect seat.
- You will specialize in real-time streaming pipeline tuning, profile stitching optimization, database-to-platform ingestion modeling, and automated lifecycle program orchestration.
Responsibilities
- Optimize Profile & Identity Stitching: Audit and optimize identity namespace configurations, resolve database collisions, and re-design pipeline rules to ensure high-accuracy profile matching.
- Rationalize Data Ingestion: Optimize multi-system data schemas, refine bulk file-ingestion flows, and construct data-minimization scripts to prevent over-ingestion and lower compute load.
- Design Federated Queries: Architect zero-copy/federated query strategies that allow marketing activation engines to reference enterprise warehouses without unnecessary data replication.
- Remediate Broken Journeys: Re-build, test, and stabilize broken multi-channel automated campaigns failing due to complex logical splits, delivery loops, or synchronization gaps.
- Enforce Safety & Suppression Rules: Build robust audience suppression rules, frequency capping mechanisms, and real-time trigger boundaries to protect the customer experience.
- Configure Activation Connectors: Build out destination syncs across ad-networks, SMS gateways, and push notification nodes to ensure low-latency delivery.
- Re-build, test, and stabilize broken multi-channel automated campaigns failing due to complex logical splits, delivery loops, or synchronization gaps.
- Build robust audience suppression rules, frequency capping mechanisms, and real-time trigger boundaries to protect the customer experience.
- You will build, test, and stabilize broken multi-channel automated campaigns failing due to complex logical splits or delivery loops, restoring data trust and campaign performance.
- We want to enable you to do what you do best and help you develop your skills further with training, development and certifications.
Requirements
- Data & Campaign Architecture Mastery: 10+ years of software engineering or systems architecture experience focusing on data pipeline engineering, customer database modeling, or marketing automation.
- Required Adobe Experience:
- Direct development experience utilizing AEP Federated Audience Composition (FAC) or zero-copy strategies with enterprise warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Data Ingestion & Activation Fluency: Deep technical command of ETL pipelines, relational database schemas, real-time trigger mechanics, and destination connectors.
- Expert, hands-on configuration authority across Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP), and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
- Extensive experience configuring schemas, segmentations, and automated campaigns within Marketo Engage and Adobe Campaign (v7/v8).
- SME Collaboration: Ability to collaborate closely with analytics engineers to validate campaign-link attribution and tracking.
- Work Environment: Remote position - TRAVEL EXPECTED
