Technical Operations Perform technical tasks such as welding (including aluminum welding), machining, fabrication, and assembly with minimal supervision.
Operate and maintain specialized tools, equipment, and machinery, including CNC machines and advanced welding systems.
Assist in the design and development of components and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintenance and Repairs Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
Document maintenance activities and provide recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to complete projects and resolve technical challenges.
Manager Defined Field: Machine Setup & Operation Review and prepare AM based CAD build files (slicing), configure print parameters, and manage machine startup for production runs.
Build Monitoring & Troubleshooting Observe active additive builds and respond to process anomalies, machine alarms, or errors to ensure part quality.
Post-Processing De-powder finished parts, detach them from the build plate, and conduct post-processing operations like stress-relief, heat treatment, support removal, and surface finishing.
Equipment Maintenance Perform routine and preventive maintenance on LPBF systems (e.g., recoater calibration, filter changes, and laser optics cleaning) to maximize system uptime.

High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical coursework or certifications required.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, machining, or welding environment, with demonstrated expertise in aluminum welding and machining processes.
Proficiency in gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) on aluminum alloys, including AC and DC electrode negative techniques, and the ability to weld complex joints and thicknesses.
Advanced knowledge of CNC machining, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting for both simple and complex parts.
Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure compliance with quality and DoD standards.
Strong understanding of safety protocols, quality standards, and industry regulations, including DoD contractor requirements.
Employees may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
This position requires a solid foundation of technical knowledge and skills, with the ability to work independently on routine assignments and contribute to more complex projects under general supervision.

Certification in welding (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, or D17.3) and machining (e.g., NIMS or equivalent).
Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software or technical drawings, with the ability to make minor modifications to designs.
Familiarity with automated systems, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
Work Environment/Conditions: Work is performed in industrial, manufacturing, or climate-controlled environments.
Requires standing, sitting, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and performing repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Exposure to noise, heat, and other environmental factors typical of technical trades work.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided.
