About the role

- This role is critical to validating spacecraft hardware in relevant environments and requires strong hands-on and analytical capability.

Responsibilities
- Join us in building the next generation of spacecraft.
- Ownership - Lead the development, operation, and continuous improvement of vacuum test systems that support spacecraft qualification and mission readiness.
- Innovation - Design and optimize advanced vacuum testing capabilities that enable reliable validation of next-generation spacecraft hardware in flight-relevant environments.
- Impact - Play a critical role in ensuring spacecraft systems perform as intended by delivering high-quality test data, resolving complex technical challenges, and supporting successful mission execution.
- Design and develop vacuum test systems and infrastructure
- Own vacuum system operation during test campaigns
- Develop vacuum test procedures and verification plans
- Support integration of hardware into vacuum environments
- Collaborate with mechanical and AI&T teams to ensure test readiness
Requirements
- To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations.
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- 5-10+ years of experience with vacuum systems
- Experience with leak detection (helium mass spectrometry)
- Experience with spacecraft or aerospace testing
- Experience with thermal vacuum testing
Compensation
- $125,000 to $180,000
- The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors.
- Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
- Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Quantum Space's total compensation package.
