About the role
- The Academic Advisor does not supervise others.

Responsibilities
- Collaborates with department chairs, program directors, and faculty to manage program admissions; evaluate transcripts; process course substitutions/waivers; respond to academic referrals; and review Petitions to Graduate.

- Participates in professional development and maintains awareness of current college trends, and academic advising theories, philosophies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree

- Updates and maintains student records in SFCC systems including: caseload notes; academic referral management; maintaining degree audits; submitting transcript evaluation requests; and submitting course substitutions/waivers.
- Attends SFCC community events, meetings, and special presentations to effectively communicate SFCC course and degree offerings and campus services.

- Experience with direct student interaction in a post-secondary setting.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Physical Demands
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping.
- The employee may occasionally lift light to medium objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office.
- Schedule Designation
- Typically 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Compensation
- Minimum starting salary $53,520.00
