About the role

The On-Call School Bus Driver position transports students on an as-needed basis.
It may include driving an assigned route in the early morning and/or late afternoon and/or driving groups of students on scheduled trips, including but not limited to athletic games, class trips, outdoor education, and other school activities.
This is an on-call position with variable hours and a variable work schedule that may include evenings and occasional weekends.

High School diploma or GED required One year of experience driving school buses in city traffic.
A current Oregon Commercial Driver's License with no more than two (2) convictions is required.
Read and write in English Ability to lift 530 lbs. and push or pull 100 lbs.
Ability to communicate on telephone, voicemail, and e-mail.
Ability to locate pickup sites on a map use GPS mapping as well as follow printed turn-by-turn instructions.
Frequently required to sit
Drivers must be able to perform job duties with or without accommodations.
Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; use foot controls to drive; reach with hands and arms; climb; bend, stoop, and kneel; and talk or hear.
The employee must be physically able to perform and demonstrate emergency evacuation procedures.

If pursuing a CDL, a pay rate of $28/hour would apply.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Drives school bus routes as assigned as a back-up driver.
Drives class, athletics, & outdoor program trips as scheduled.
Possible overnight and weekend trips.
Adheres to assigned schedule of buses and drivers as designated by the Transportation Manager.
Loads and unloads students at designated on- or off-campus areas.
