Requirements

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree (Music or related field preferred)
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with cloud-based data management tools (e.g., Google Workspace, registration platforms, invoicing software)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching cello to students of varying ages and levels
  • Familiarity with Suzuki repertoire and pedagogy
  • Suzuki teacher training (any registered unit) is a plus, with willingness to pursue additional training
  • Familiarity with invoicing, billing, and basic accounting workflows
  • Experience working with school-age students and their families

Skills

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current SPC families, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries
  • Generate invoices for tuition and fees and track billing and payments in coordination with the School of Music business office
  • Coordinate calendar planning, room reservations, and equipment and instrument logistics for SPC activities
  • Cultivate referral relationships with local schools, youth orchestras, and community organizations
  • Track inquiries and follow up consistently to convert prospective families into enrolled students
  • Teach weekly private cello lessons to SPC students of varying ages and levels
  • Participate in group classes, studio classes, and student recitals as appropriate
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, goals, and home practice
