About the role
- Do you live and breathe entertainment and the business behind it?
- Do you stay ahead of the curve on the scripted television series and franchises defining culture right now?
- Are you as interested in the creative bets, deals, and executives behind a show as you are in the show itself?
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Drive end-to-end communications strategy from development through launch and beyond, managing messaging, campaigns, and issues management.
- Slate Storytelling: Develop horizontal, multi-title narratives (e.g., genre trends, franchise milestones, industry impact) that connect individual titles to broader cultural conversations about Netflix.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with creative executives, production, marketing, and legal teams to shape long-term strategy and provide expert counsel.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage brand and communications risks, including sensitive reactive situations (cancellations, HR issues, controversial content), with sound judgment under pressure.
- Demonstrated success building multi-title, "slate" or franchise-level narratives - not just single-title campaigns - that tie to broader cultural, economic, or industry storylines.
- Strong cross-functional collaborator who partners well with creative, legal, marketing, and publicity teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, meticulous organization, and the ability to manage a high volume of complex, concurrent projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in communications at an agency, studio, or network, ideally within entertainment or media.
- Proven track record leading proactive and reactive communications strategy for scripted television, film, or comparable premium content.
Compensation
- $186k-$317k
Benefits
- A proven, personal track record of pitching, securing, and shaping press coverage.
- Hands-On Media Relations: Personally pitch and secure coverage across trade, business, and entertainment media.
