About the role
- Assisting with logistical aspects of prospective student events, such prospective student workshops, tours of the Iribe Center, Maryland Day, Admitted Student Open Houses, etc.
- Supporting bi-weekly prospective student drop-in advising
- Assisting with the daily business operations of the front desk
Responsibilities
- The Recruitment Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the Department of Computer Science Undergraduate Advising Office with supporting departmental recruitment efforts.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking graduate program at the University of Maryland, College Park.
- The candidate must be able to both work independently and as a member of interdisciplinary teams.
- Applicants must have proficient analytical, writing, verbal, organizational, research and computer skills and an ability to work well with students, campus partners, parents, and external constituencies.
- Attention to detail, initiative, ability to work independently, and reliability are essential.

- Must be a registered graduate student in good standing enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland and must be making satisfactory progress toward the degree.
- Graduate Assistant I is for master's students.
Nice to have
- Working with undergraduate students, particularly those in STEM and/or technical fields.
- Students with a background or professional experience working in a recruitment setting and are organized, analytical, and detailed-oriented and capable of performing under a variety of requirements and deadlines.
- Experience with public speaking and leadership is preferred.
