About the role

  • The Institute for Plant-Human Interface (IPHI) in the College of Science at Northeastern University advances fundamental plant biology and applies these discoveries to improve human health, agriculture, and sustainability.
  • Located in Boston's biotechnology hub, IPHI fosters interdisciplinary collaboration in areas such as plant-derived therapeutics, climate-resilient crops, AI-enabled plant science, and sustainable biomanufacturing.
  • The Lab Technician will analyze experimental data, address methodological problems in experimental protocols and results, and report data to the Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities

  • Document, compile, and assist in interpreting experimental data. Report data to supervisor in oral and written reports.
  • Assist the PI or other Project Manager in determining the order of research processes that best support essential project goals.
  • The Lab Technician will perform bench-level experiments and small independent research projects to support the Institute's scientific research objectives.
  • Document, compile, and assist in interpreting experimental data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Biology or a field directly related to the work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills required.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in basic lab techniques required.
  • Knowledge of principles of molecular biology and various scientific databases and publications preferred.
