About the role

  • Western Colorado University invites applications for the.5 position of Mountain Sports Freeride Coach.
  • The Mountain Sports Freeride Coach (Freeride Coach) reports to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation - Mountain Sports (ADCR - Mountain Sports ).
  • The Freeride Coach will work with the ADCR - Mountain Sports for guidance on budgets and institutional policies.

Responsibilities

  • The Freeride coach is expected to develop and enhance training, competition and team cohesion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience coaching and competing in skiing and/or snowboarding, preferably in freeride disciplines.
  • Required attachments for online application include letter of application addressed to Kieran Nay, Assistant Director of Campus Recreation - Mountain Sports, resume, transcripts and contact information for three references.

Nice to have

  • IFSA Coaching Certification (Level 100 or higher)
  • SafeSport Certification
  • additional sport-specific coaching certifications relevant to freeride skiing or snowboarding.
  • The position is FLSA exempt.
