About the role
- Plan and execute geotechnical investigations.
- Assist in the collection and review of as-built drawings and existing geotechnical data for subsurface due diligence.
- Provide geotechnical recommendations for construction means and methods.
Responsibilities
- Create geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretation reports, geotechnical design reports for tunnel and shaft construction.
- Create temporary support of excavation designs, reports, and drawings.
- Produce tunnel lining design documentation, including lateral earth pressure calculations.
- Perform ground settlement and construction impact analysis of subsurface structures (e.g., shafts, tunnels) and 3rd party infrastructure (e.g., buildings, utilities).
- Create and oversee the implementation of settlement monitoring plans.
- Perform construction period observation and inspection.
- Support brick operations with geotechnical recommendations and testing oversight.
Requirements
- Key Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
- Anywhere from 1-10 years of experience working in rock mechanics, or in hard rock conditions (tunneling, mining).
