About the role
- We have more customer stories than we can tell!
- You'll be the person who closes that gap: every launch, landing page, conference booth, customer story, and social post that carries the Retell name comes through you.
- At our stage, one designer's taste can define what an entire category looks like, and voice AI has no visual language yet.
Responsibilities
- This role sits on Brand team and is our first senior brand design hire.
- Ship the visual assets that drive awareness: launch campaigns, landing pages, social media, blog thumbnail designs, and sales collateral.
- Extend our brand system (type, color, illustration, templates) so the rest of the company can produce on-brand work without design in the loop for every asset.
- Own the physical and experiential surface: event booths, one-pagers, signage, and company merch people actually want to wear.
- Ship the visual assets that drive awareness:
- Own the physical and experiential surface:
- Stage 4 - Design exercise (45 min).
- A real Retell brief - a quick concept design.
- 1h exercise regarding design brainstorm work.
- You can explain why a design works in terms of what the business needs, not just what looks good.
Requirements
- Comfort working from a one-line brief, you bring the direction, then take feedback well.
- Thousands of companies now use Retell's AI voice agents to handle sales, support, and logistics calls that once required large teams of human agents.
Nice to have
- Illustration or 3D skills for custom graphics, icons, and product imagery.
- Motion and video: After Effects, Rive, or similar, for social and launch assets.
- Web design experience with enough front-end literacy (HTML/CSS, Webflow, or Framer) to ship a page yourself.
- Experience at an AI or developer-tools company, or a personal practice that keeps you current on how the best AI brands are presenting themselves.
- We care less about checkboxes and more about:
- Taste under constraint.
- Can you make something excellent in two days with an incomplete brief?
- We look at the work, not the process deck.
Compensation
- Top 1% talent: Above-market pay (top 5th percentile) to attract exceptional builders
- Offers tied to interview performance, not tenure or past salary
Benefits
- You get genuinely annoyed by inconsistent brand execution and can't leave it alone.
- Meet the team in Redwood City, see how we work, and talk brand vision with the founders.
Company info
- Prompt-level fluency with AI image and video tools as part of your production workflow.
- event booths, one-pagers, signage, and company merch people actually want to wear.
Visa & Work Authorization
- US Visas: Retell AI is open to sponsoring work authorization for qualified candidates, including H-1B, TN, L-1, E-3, and F-1 (OPT/CPT)
