The EH&S Senior Specialist - Environmental will have ownership of the wastewater treatment plant operations, and waste management programs.

Own and administer the site's environmental programs including creating procedures, maintaining records, reporting internally and externally, and developing teammate training
Devise strategies to meet corporate environmental and sustainability objectives. Develop targets and monitor performance, using established metrics and KPIs (leading/lagging)
proactively identify and manage projects to reduce the site's impacts on the environment.
Lead and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote EHS excellence and drive risk reduction.
Create, manage and lead environmental projects across multiple departments and teams
Perform risk assessments and impact and aspects analyses
and drive risk reduction projects in the spirit of continual improvement
Own ISO14001 and 45001 systems and serve as a lead auditor for EHS Management Systems
Lead investigations into environmental incidents
Develop targets and monitor performance, using established metrics and KPIs (leading/lagging); proactively identify and manage projects to reduce the site's impacts on the environment.

A degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry
Five or more years of experience in an industrial setting
E xtensive experience in wastewater treatment plant operations, specifically metal hydroxide precipitation
Demonstrated experience in environmental program development and ownership
Ability to work in both a team and individual setting
Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to use a variety of software applications to analyze, monitor data, conduct reports, and presentations.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, extensive walking, confined spaces, wear a respirator and handle exposures to hot/cold environments.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports, applications and plans as required

Preferred knowledge of Indiana and US environmental regulations and ISO 14001 Standards
Preferred Indiana Waste Water Treatment Operator License or the ability to obtain one in the first six months
Preferred experience with air permitting and reporting and hazardous waste management

This position will create, manage, and lead projects across multiple teams and reports to the site Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.
