About the role

  • SUMMARY The Manager, Clinical Hospice provides oversight of all personnel and patient care services.
  • The Clinical Manager is responsible for monitoring compliance, quality and safe delivery of services by following clinical processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides appropriate level of coaching and support related to hospice care
  • Manages intake collaboration, providing daily direction and balancing referral volume with staffing
  • Implements field quality improvement programs
  • Participates in on-call rotation and manages the on-call calendar for staff
  • Completes field visits as needed and manages cost efficiency (supplies, overtime, visits per episode)
  • Maintains positive relationships with referral sources (physicians, hospitals, facilities, families)
  • Maintains active RN license and participates in in-service program development
  • Implements agency policies and procedures effectively
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Performs coaching, counseling and discipline as needed.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience as a RN in hospice
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve clinical needs
  • Ability to remain calm, have patience and be accommodating
  • Ability to resolve conflict using conflict management skills
  • Ability to resolve tough decision-making situations and provide direction to staff
  • Ability to prioritize and be timely
  • Ability to clinically triage the needs of the department to ensure team goals are met timely
  • Applies fact-based knowledge of technical skills and business understanding
  • Ability to follow directions and work as a team member
