About the role
- Experience in the animal health, pharmaceutical, or related life sciences industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, business case development, proposal creation, contract negotiation, and agreement finalization to secure strategic partnerships and create strong value propositions.
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in target organizations, while supporting ongoing partner success and identifying opportunities for expansion.
- Develop and execute regional business and account plans to achieve revenue and market share goals, including support for large independent accounts and legal entity opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Research & Development teams to integrate new partnerships, maintain a strong pipeline, and provide regular progress updates and forecasts.
- Experience developing business cases, proposals, and partnership strategies that clearly demonstrate commercial value.
- Elanco may use automated tools, including AI, to support parts of our recruitment process, such as reviewing applications against job‑related criteria and/or transferrable skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or key account management, with a proven track record of securing significant new business.
- Experience negotiating complex contracts and managing strategic partnerships.

- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or another advanced degree.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market data into actionable business strategy.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of profit and loss (P&L) implications in commercial decision-making.

Compensation
- The expected base salary for this position ranges from $77,800 to $125,000.
- The actual base salary offered may vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education and experience.
- The compensation package is subject to change, and the actual base salary could be higher or lower than the range described above.
