About the role
- Specialty pharmacy experience is valuable, but we can teach the pharmacy domain to the right candidate.
- This product lives at the intersection of robotic dispensing, integration-heavy workflows, and the clinical urgency of specialty pharmacy.
- Translate the operational needs of Health System Specialty Pharmacies, Central Fill Pharmacies, and Independent Infusion & Specialty Pharmacies into a prioritized, well-reasoned backlog.
Responsibilities
- Drive Integration Strategy Across the Dispensing Ecosystem: Own the integration strategy between VPL's shipping platform and robotic dispensing partners, defining data contracts and API specifications in collaboration with Engineering.
- Design for Low-Touch, High-Scale Operations: Define product workflows optimized for near-zero human intervention, from prescription receipt through label generation, carrier selection, and shipment confirmation.
- Collaborate with UX to ensure the product experience supports pharmacist oversight without burdening high-throughput operations.
- Collaborate Across the VPL Product Organization: Work closely with peer Product Managers across VPL to ensure cohesion across the platform and avoid duplicated effort or conflicting experiences.
- The Automation-First Thinker: You understand that in high-volume pharmacy, manual steps are failure modes and you design accordingly.
- The Cross-Functional Connector: You thrive in collaborative product environments and maintain a consistent voice across Implementation, Sales, and Account Management.
- Lead roadmap planning and review cycles with the Senior Product Manager, aligning milestones to business outcomes and customer commitments.
- At VPL, we modernize pharmacy supply chains to support positive outcomes for patients.
Requirements
- You can translate technical complexity into clear product requirements and practical customer outcomes.
- Shipping Platform Expertise: Prior experience as a Product Manager at a shipping or logistics software company, such as a multi-carrier shipping platform, parcel technology provider, or shipping API platform.
- Integration Background: Demonstrated experience owning or contributing to integration-heavy products, ideally involving pharmacy management systems, dispensing platforms, or ERP integrations.
- Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work effectively across a product team, collaborating with peer PMs, contributing to shared architectural decisions, and operating without siloed ownership.
Nice to have
- Demonstrated experience owning or contributing to integration-heavy products, ideally involving pharmacy management systems, dispensing platforms, or ERP integrations.

- Experience with high-volume pharmacy or regulated-goods shipments is a plus but not required - we will teach you our domain if you bring the shipping expertise.
