About the role

An aircraft mechanic with a structures background is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the structural components of aircraft to ensure safety and airworthiness.
Ensures that all sheet metal activities are carried out in compliance with company and FAA repair procedures and policies, and that all work meets specified standards and tolerances.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on airframes, including minor and major repairs, modifications, and fabrication of structural parts.

Familiarity with aerodynamics, stress analysis, fatigue, and load requirements.
Knowledge of welding, riveting, cutting, and drilling techniques.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and blueprints accurately.
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to meet tight tolerances.
Ability to detect corrosion, fatigue, and structural damage using inspection tools and techniques.
Ability to quickly learn new procedures and adapt to evolving technologies and regulations.
Working Conditions/Environment/Special Requirements Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
Repair and fabrication methods: Knowledge of welding, riveting, cutting, and drilling techniques.
Blueprint and schematic reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and blueprints accurately.
Precision measurement: Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to meet tight tolerances.

Generally, 2-3 years of experience in area of responsibility working on aircraft structures.
Able to use tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.

High School/GED A&P or structures experience a plus, or repairman's certificate may substitute for
Aircraft materials and components: Understanding the and uses of metals, alloys, composites, and plastics used in aircraft structures.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving structural issues.
