Responsibilities

  • ​Engineering Design Leadership: Lead and oversee the preparation of detailed engineering designs, geometric layouts, cross-sections, drainage, and utilities for urban roadways, multi-modal corridors, and active transportation infrastructure.
  • ​Business Development: Win work and identify future design opportunities; prepare technical approaches for proposals and respond to RFPs/RFQs.
  • ​Client & Project Management: Manage client relationships, maintain project schedules, and deliver complex design projects on-budget.
  • ​Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work seamlessly across disciplines (environmental, regulatory, and advisory) to ensure sustainable and resilient design solutions.
  • ​Mentorship & Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and perform quality control reviews for junior design engineers and CAD technicians.
  • ​Public Engagement: Present complex engineering designs and visual concepts clearly to clients, stakeholders, and the public during outreach events.
  • ​Experience: 10+ years of increasingly responsible professional experience in transportation infrastructure design.
  • ​Subject Matter Expertise: Familiarity with evolving best practices and design guidelines (AASHTO, NACTO, state DOT manuals) regarding smart cities, micro-mobility, and urban multi-modal design.

Requirements

  • ​Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required (ability to obtain reciprocity in target states if necessary).

  • ​Technical Software: High proficiency with industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads).

Compensation

  • The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

  • Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related engineering field.
