About the role

  • Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Banking Market Leader role in the Bowie, MD area.
  • The position is responsible for overseeing and supporting the performance of a regional business development team by aligning sales strategies with the bank's objectives, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining strong community and client engagement.
  • Ensures proper staffing for the assigned region; staffing levels that reflect efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully lead and manage a business development team consisting of, but not limited to, Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers and Loan Portfolio Specialists.
  • Work with management of other lines of business to develop and execute targeted business development initiatives that are in line with the bank strategic plan.

Requirements

  • You also bring the following skills and experience: Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • Ten years of commercial banking experience with a minimum of five years related to commercial credit review or commercial credit experience.
  • Direct lending and lending/sales management experience ideal.
  • Experience with Consumer Lending is ideal as well.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Windows Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Compensation

  • This position offers a competitive salary of up to $225K and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position)
  • Works with management to develop annual sales goals.
