About the role
- The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Surgical Oncology-Endocrine, Inpatient Service.
- This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital.
- The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information.
- Privileged to assist and primarily perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Surgical Oncology services.
- Collaborates with other consultative care teams and primary team in the management of malignant and benign diseases.
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
- Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Join Commission.
Nice to have
- Oncology, Surgical Nursing or critical care experience of 5 years or more preferred
- Open to new grads with nursing experience
- Acute care nurse practitioner preferred.

- Approximately 1,780 MCW physicians and approximately 905 advanced practice providers care for more than 484,000 patients of all ages annually at Froedtert Hospital, Zablocki VA Medical Center, Children's Wisconsin, and many other hospitals
