About the role

The Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of the company's financial statements and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
This role will specifically focus on managing and executing the month-end close processes for Horizon Media's affiliate companies.
15% - Prepare, review, analyze, and communicate financial, accounting, and statistical information to FP&A department and the GL team.

20% - Partner closely with the FP&A department to support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
5% - Review assigned areas of responsibility for continuous process improvement and implement internal controls.
Perform monthly closing procedures for affiliate companies, including the preparation and review of journal entries, intercompany transactions, and profit and loss/balance sheet account reconciliations.
Partner closely with the FP&A department to support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Review assigned areas of responsibility for continuous process improvement and implement internal controls.
Solid communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with the FP&A team, the GL team, and all levels of management.

Knowledge and Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
4+ years of experience of relevant Accounting experience
Strong knowledge of Accounting principles and GAAP
Be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly
CPA or equivalent highly favorable, but not required
some additional time may be required on evenings and weekends during close periods.
Work hours are typically 9-6, Mon-Fri; some additional time may be required on evenings and weekends during close periods.

Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and experience with NetSuite is a strong plus.
Experience in the media industry or working with affiliate/subsidiary accounting is a plus but not a necessity.

$80,000.00 - $95,000.00
A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.

5% - Investigate and research accounting questions related to internal and external reporting issues to ensure financial activity is recorded consistently with the Company's policies and GAAP.
