About the role

  • Assaying is carried out using established methods and schedules, while ensuring analytical quality as well as the adherence to safe laboratory practices by working in accordance with the ALS Health and Safety Program.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain analytical balances in accordance to ALS procedures.
  • Wash labware using correct lab procedures to prevent contamination of glassware and maintain a good circulation of available glassware.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment by following established safety rules and regulations and ALS best practices.
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.

Requirements

  • Recognized diploma or degree in Science required
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours
  • Assist others, as required to meet workload and turnaround time commitments.
  • Complete required documentation including logs and equipment records.
  • Report all safety concerns to the Analytical Laboratory Manager and participate in incident investigations when required.

Nice to have

  • Analytical Chemistry preferred.

  • Basic computer skills in using software applications required.
  • Good hand eye coordination.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Quality and detail oriented individual.
  • Ability to work independently or under supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
