About the role

  • In Central Texas and in the Military, drone or remote pilot positions have grown progressively and will continue to grow over the next five years.
  • For this professional track Assistant Lecturer position, specific duties include teaching select courses, in-person, at 10-week intervals starting in Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with program objectives and the university standards for CEUs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the collegiate level
  • Knowledge or background in Military training initiatives, military drone flight, munitions, or other related Military field.
  • The position offers a unique opportunity to apply real world experience as a lecturer, full-time for 2 years (renewable).
  • Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent upon the institution's verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution's procedures, including the completion of the criminal history check.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of FAA 108 organizational requirements.
  • Prior successful teaching experience, including technology enhanced instruction.
  • Demonstrated organizational, administrative, and teamwork skills within an academic or operational aviation environment.

  • The instructor will teach a variety of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses for the Remote Pilot programs, as determined by department needs and individual qualifications.
