About the role
- With a substantial shortage city-wide of qualified special education teachers, your skills are urgently needed to help students get the personalized instruction they need.
- This provides the chance to work directly with students who need specialized academic assistance, supporting them in achieving their learning goals through targeted intervention and evidence-based teaching.
- As a SETSS teacher with Knowledge Road, you'll provide individualized and small-group instruction in educational settings, working closely with families and school teams to promote student progress and academic success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and submit quarterly progress reports and maintain regular family communication with updates on progress and upcoming steps.
- Create and execute engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of each individual student.
- Helpful team providing DOE compliance and scheduling support
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- Experience teaching Math and ELA.
- NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete before start.
- Experience supporting Elementary School Aged Students with Autism.
- Valid NYS Students with Disabilities (B-2, 1-6, 7-12, or All Grades) or NYS Literacy Specialist.
- Must not have been employed by NYC DOE within the last 12 months.
- Dependable transportation.

Compensation
- $60−$100 per hour (1099). Pay rates differ by group size and placement. Individual IESP sessions typically start at $60 per hour. For this specific case we are looking for someone prepared to offer one-on-one support with a student who has many mandated hours.
