About the role

  • Monthly invoices will be submitted by the consultant, with a maximum number of 80 hours per month (and any projected hours over this amount to be approved by the supervisor).

Responsibilities

  • Meet with Edify staff recommended by VP to determine project requirements and develop a key features document outlining requirements of the assessment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of early grades literacy skills and competencies, including reading comprehension
  • Cross-cultural competence and ability to engage with teams from diverse backgrounds
  • Spanish proficiency
  • Understanding of assessment design and how to develop empirically-valid questions
  • Understanding of literacy assessment at the secondary school level
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to communicate requirements to technical leads and provide user feedback, with coding and/or database knowledge a plus

  • Key Features Document: Meet with Edify staff recommended by VP to determine project requirements and develop a key features document outlining requirements of the assessment.
  • Matrix Prioritizing Key Features and Existing Solutions: Share with staff and include an efficient feedback mechanism (e.g., Google Forms).
  • Determine Assessment Tool and Adaptations: Provide recommendations to Edify on whether to adapt an existing tool or create a new tool and on how to incorporate assessment data in Edify's database.
  • Refine Assessment Tool for Pilot: Prepare assessment for schools and backend integration with Edify's database.

Compensation

  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience and paid on an hourly basis.
