About the role
- You will help bring our core iOS experience to Android users - while ensuring the app feels native, fast, and thoughtfully built for the platform.
- We're looking for someone who cares deeply about craft, performance, and user experience - especially in media-rich, social environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain Hook's Android application using modern Android frameworks
- Translate product and design requirements into high-quality, scalable implementations
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers to define clean API contracts
- Work cross-functionally with product and design to refine UX and ship iteratively
Requirements
- Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development (e.g., Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow)
- Experience with audio/video playback, media processing, or real-time interactions
