- Responsible for assigned categories to ensure continuity of supply, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and cost effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Owns assigned procurement categories, ensuring quality, cost, delivery, inventory, and supplier performance meet business objectives.
- Plans inventory levels to support manufacturing needs while maintaining optimal days of supply.
- Collaborates with Product Development, Manufacturing, Planning, Receiving, Maintenance, and Finance to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Sources materials and suppliers and supports supplier qualification efforts.
- Manages supplier communication regarding pricing, availability, lead times, specifications, and delivery schedules.
- Maintains material and purchasing data in SAP and leads improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Identifies and implements purchasing process improvements that enhance operational performance.
- Mentors Associate Buyers and supports the development of team members.
