About the role

  • Harvey's Finance Engineering team is the investment-side counterpart to our Legal Engineering team: former investment professionals who bring real deal experience to Harvey's prospects and customers.
  • They translate real investment work into Harvey solutions, serving as the trust layer across the entire customer lifecycle, from the first pilot to the most complex, custom-built workflow.
  • Finance Engineers work on Harvey Deals, a new product built off of Harvey's acquisition of Benchmark.

Responsibilities

  • Forward Deployed Finance Engineers on the private credit team are former credit investors who left the desk to help build the future of how credit gets underwritten.
  • Strong command of the documents and data that drive a credit decision - lender presentation and CIM, QoE and data pack, model, credit agreement and intercreditor, compliance certificates - and an instinct for where the numbers and the paper disagree.
  • Executive presence and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility from analysts and associates through to partners and credit committee members.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills - comfortable leading a live demo, facilitating a workshop, or holding your own in a technical conversation about a covenant package or an underwriting assumption.

Requirements

  • Leveraged finance, restructuring advisory, or rating-agency experience before the principal side is welcome, but principal-side deal execution is required.

Nice to have

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling, comfort with prompting and agentic AI workflows, and a builder's instinct for turning a repeated manual process into a repeatable automation.

Compensation

  • OTE $254,600 - $350,000 USD (75/25 Split)
