About the role
- The Associate Director/Director of IT will be a key contributor in shaping and advancing Avalo's IT capabilities in a highly regulated biotech/pharmaceutical environment.
- This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution across infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, digital workplace technologies, and business systems.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions are compliant with corporate policies/standards and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Avalo's infrastructure and cloud computing are properly architecture and scaled to support Avalo's growth.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing optimization of cloud-based applications, infrastructure, and services to support business growth, scalability, and operational resilience.
- Manage infrastructure including Video/Audio conference systems, and data governance. Ensure infrastructure solutions are compliant with corporate policies/standards and relevant regulations.
- Keeps up-to-date with relevant technology to ensure fit-for-purpose, scalable technology implemented to support Avalo's growth.
- Serve as the system owner and administrator of Avalo business systems ensure technology/systems properly managed and maintained. Partners with business owners ensure the proper control of system access and content management.
- Drive user adoption of enterprise technologies by developing practical guidance, training, and support resources that improve employee experience and effective system use.
- Develop and configure solutions from conceptualization to stabilization using various computer platforms.
- Implement and continuously improve Avalo's Information Security program ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements (SOX, GxP, FDA, and other relevant regulatory standards).
- Ensure Avalo maintains a strong cyber posture, security first, and cyber aware culture.
Requirements

Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field
- equivalent experience considered
- Master's degree a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including experience in regulated life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Working knowledge of compliance and control frameworks such as SOX, GxP, FDA-regulated environments, NIST CSF.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled workplace tools, governance considerations, and their application in business processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
