Responsibilities

  • For the past 45 years, MOSAIC has worked to strengthen communities by advocating for positive changes and supporting newcomers in building their new lives in Canada.

Requirements

  • Excellent pedagogical knowledge and experience in online instruction using Moodle and Zoom
  • Recognized undergraduate degree and a TESL Canada recognized TESL certificate or a clearly documented equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching adult ESL, particularly using student-centered, participatory methods.
  • Working knowledge of the CLBs (Canadian Language Benchmarks) and PBLA (Portfolio Based Language Assessment).
  • The successful candidate may be permitted to work a hybrid schedule, however, the successful candidate must be able to commute to 2730 Commercial Drive, Vancouver office location for in-office days.
  • Before applying, you must be legally permitted to work in Canada through citizenship or permanent resident status.
  • Therefore, until further notice, employees are no longer required to provide a proof of vaccination.
  • Community-based, settlement and Literacy ESL experience is an asset.

Compensation

  • $31.26 - $34.32 per hour
  • Today the organization engages and serves over 26,000 clients per year at 47 service and community locations in Greater Vancouver through a wide range of high-quality settlement and integration programs including services geared towards youth and family, interpretation and translation, language and workplace training, counselling, and employment.
