- Conveniently located near I-80 in Waukee, this state-of-the-art, 21,000 sq. ft.
- ASC offers same-day joint replacement, orthopedic, sports medicine, foot and ankle, plastics, pain management surgery and a cardiac catheterization lab in an out-patient setting.
- A Day in the Life of ASC Surgical Technologist… The Surgical Technologist for the Ambulatory Surgery Center will be primarily responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments and assisting surgeons during procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs instrument and sponge counts.
- Assumes accountability for enhancing own knowledge through professional associations, journals, workshops, in-services, etc., to proactively keep updated on sterile processing techniques.
- Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations and remains current on changes.
- Recognizes implications of applicable laws and/or regulations to the department and implements or recommends courses of action to ensure compliance.

Nice to have
- Mandatory reporter Training certification · High School Diploma or equivalent required · Graduate from an approved surgical technology program · Minimum of 2 years' operating room experience preferred.
