Requirements

  • Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • 2 years experience on gas engines and compressors
  • 2 years experience operating a service truck
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory
  • Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication

  • Job Description:
  • As a Gas Compression Tech, you'll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance.
  • You'll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines-both in the shop and out in the field-leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.
  • Your work will include:
  • Field diagnosis and running repairs
  • Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds
  • Component replacements
  • Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted)
  • Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of CAT engine and powertrain components
