Responsibilities

  • Your role will be to provide compassionate care and support, ensuring patients' safety and comfort while keeping detailed records.

Requirements

  • Strong medical math skills and experience with drug calculations.

Nice to have

  • At least 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with a preference for neurology or specialty practice.
  • Skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, drug calculations, and other technical skills.
  • Attention to detail, must be thorough in your work, with a focus on accuracy, especially in critical moments
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Compassionate, detail-oriented, and a team player.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
  • Preferred - Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification

  • What You Can Expect To Do
  • Assist Board-Certified Neurologist: Use your skills to assist our board-certified neurologists with neuro exams, diagnostic procedures, and intricate surgeries.
  • We are looking for a Veterinary Technician to work in our busy Neurology Department.
  • Our ideal candidate has experience in specialty veterinary medicine with keen attention to detail and an exemplary ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Patient Interventions & CPR: You'll be monitoring patients at risk for cardiac and respiratory arrest and will initiate CPR as needed.
  • Patient Monitoring/Record Keeping: You'll be performing patient assessments using various monitoring techniques and communicating with pet owners about their pet's history and at-home care.
  • Diagnostics: You'll be hands-on using various diagnostics, including MRI, CT, and radiology. You will also be obtaining and handling patient samples, assisting with cerebrospinal fluid sampling, and preparing samples for advanced diagnostics at reference labs.
  • Patient Monitoring: Neurological patients require intensive monitoring before, during, and after procedures. Your role will be to provide compassionate care and support, ensuring patients' safety and comfort while keeping detailed records.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with our amazing team to deliver comprehensive care and have a blast while doing it!
  • Patient Advocacy: Advocate for the well-being and comfort of patients from the moment they arrive until they are discharged.
