About the role

  • Our products are installed in more than 20,000+ multifamily, commercial, gated communities, and student-housing worldwide, including developed, owned, and managed by the most trusted names in real estate.
  • This person will report to the Accounting Manager.
  • This person should have hands-on experience of performing various month-end close tasks, including journal entry preparation, BS reconciliations, P&L variance analyses and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Own preparation tasks during month-end close: prepare journal entries with solid JE support, BS reconciliations, supporting schedules for financial reporting and documents for audit requests.
  • Perform month-over-month BS and P&L analyses and provide good explanations on large variances. Identify missing revenue or expenses and determine whether to accrue for that item.
  • Maintain good documentation on managed areas in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Streamline processes, identify inefficiencies in current processes, collaborate with the Accounting Manager and the Controller on solutions to those inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and the Controller in establishing and implementing internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Keep the Accounting Manager and the Controller posted on issues identified and brainstorm solutions with them.
  • Our features are designed for developers, owners, property managers, and tenants, and our products lower operating costs and improve tenant satisfaction.
  • Developers and owners no longer need to run building wiring or install in-unit hardware.
  • Property managers can grant building access, revoke permissions, and review entry logs from an online dashboard.
  • Residents can open doors from their smartphones, issue visitor access, and see who is trying to enter the building.

Requirements

  • Excellent project management skills, strong ability to prioritize tasks to achieve objectives under tight or competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with imperfect processes.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter without close supervision.
  • You must have the authorization to work in the US to become an employee.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA is preferred.
  • This position is open to candidates who are in the process of getting a CPA license.
  • Both the Accounting Manager and the Controller are active CPAs and can sign off on licensing.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting, either in industry accounting (GL), in public accounting (audit), or mixed.
  • Accounting experience in SaaS companies preferred.
  • Prior experience with Sage Intacct (ERP), Ramp (expense management), Nominal (close management), Tesorio (billings and collections), and/or Salesforce (CRM) is preferred.
  • Adaptable to new systems.

Compensation

  • The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000-$120,000.
  • Actual compensation will depend on factors including budget, skills, experience, location, and internal equity.
  • This position may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, or other forms of compensation, where applicable.
