About the role
- During these trips, CFPCS/TS uses their language skills to communicate in a way that is culturally sensitive, while fostering a safe and comfortable environment.
- secures UC and/or families' personal property, to include any medication during transportation.
- The CFPCS/TS reports on trip progress and enters each milestones at the beginning of each trip, during the trip and at the end of each trip and elevates concerns to appropriate parties.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety of all passengers during transport and is responsible for ensuring that all occupants have their own seat and are secured with a seat belt in the vehicle.
- Must maintain "line of sight and sound" supervision of each minor and/or families during transport.
Requirements
- Associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college (a high school diploma with one or more years of extra relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree).
- Have at least two years of documented experience in a field related to law, social work, detention, corrections, or similar occupational area
- Must be bilingual
- must be able to speak, read and write in English, read, and speak Spanish.
- Ability to take technical direction and feedback from various sources.
- Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van (commercial motor vehicle).
- Completes, verifies, and provides required documentation to appropriate parties.
- Must be able to address and de-escalate, in both controlled and uncontrolled situations, with uncooperative individuals and reports issues to management immediately.
- Provides approved clothing and hygiene supplies, if required, meals, snacks, and drinks for the minors and/or families for the duration of the transport as required per contract requirements.
Nice to have
- Inventory and surveillance software experience preferred.
Skills
- Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
- Must be bilingual; must be able to speak, read and write in English, read, and speak Spanish.
- Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representation of MVM in a professional manner.
- Available to travel frequently (domestic flights and via ground transportation, and international travel depending on the program).
- Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
- Possess a valid and current driver's license with safe driving record.
