- Position Overview The Data Center Deployment Technician II is a mid-level role requiring 2-3 years of hands-on data center experience.
- This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of structured cabling tasks, including labeling, bundling, dressing, porting, and Quality Control / Quality Assurance for fiber optic and copper cabling.
Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end labeling of fiber optic and copper cables in accordance with client standards and drawings.
- Port and connect cables to panels, switches, and hardware per design documentation.
- Perform QC/QA checks on assigned work to confirm:
- Identify, document, and report discrepancies or issues to project leadership.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job support to Level I technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area that meets client and safety standards.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of hands-on data center experience.
- Proven experience with fiber optic and copper structured cabling.
- Experience labeling, bundling, dressing, and porting cables in live or production data center environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in data center environments (raised floors, equipment aisles).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, scope documents, and labeling standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Nice to have
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise data centers.
- Prior experience mentoring junior technicians.
- Military, trade school, or technical training background.
- Mid-level role with hands-on technical ownership., and increased responsibility
- Clear growth path within deployment and project teams.
- On-the-job training and mentorship.
